Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his unique blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. She's performed on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine is a name that she has given her is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church, where she sang as well as performed piano. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training on the city's R&B scene. In 2005, she was commissioned as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) offered her the position of choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine rose to prominence in the performances that took place over four days in 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine went on to sing during the 2009 Obama Inauguration.
