Winona Ryder Professionally Winona Ryder, was born in Winona Minnesota. Her name was chosen by her parents in honor of the town in which they were born. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father came from an ethnically Jewish origin. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County in California at the age of seven older. There was no electricity. Ryder was a voracious reading book because there was no television. Ryder started taking classes in acting in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of twelve years old. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986 at the age of 15 young. Ryder was bullied at high school. Her professional acting, she believed to help, could have helped her. However, it didn't occur. The actress continued to chase her goals. Ryder made her breakthrough with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder continued to be successful in her parts in a variety of films. He was nominated for two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
